C:≤0.08;Si:≤0.80;Mn:≤2.00;Cr:16.00-18.00;P:≤0.035;S:≤0.025
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
International high-end steel for aerospace, oil & gas, defense or engineering.
AVAILABLE FORMS
Bar, plate, sheet, tube, forgings, strip, wire, powder
HEAT TREATMENT
Annealed at 780–850 °C and air cooled; stabilize at 600–800 °C to avoid 475 °C embrittlement; not hardenable by heat treatment.
PROCESSING PRECAUTIONS
Avoid welding in the 475 °C embrittlement and sigma-phase ranges; use matched filler and minimize heat input. Good resistance to stress-corrosion cracking.
