Electroslag Remelting
Primary refined steel electrode is prepared and positioned above the melt pool.
High-purity slag is melted in the water-cooled copper mold, generating the refining environment.
The electrode tip melts and drips through the slag, removing sulfides, oxides, and non-metallic inclusions.
Controlled directional solidification produces a dense, inclusion-free ingot with fine grain structure.
Vacuum Arc Remelting
The electrode is placed in a high-vacuum chamber; oxygen and nitrogen are evacuated.
A DC arc melts the electrode tip under vacuum, preventing oxidation and gas absorption.
Molten metal droplets pass through the arc zone, achieving exceptional chemical homogeneity.
Slow, controlled solidification yields a macrostructure with minimal segregation and superior fatigue life.
