Available Forms
Heat- and creep-resistant steel for elevated-temperature service with stable strength and oxidation resistance. Used in furnace parts, exhaust manifolds, turbine components, boiler tubes and engine valves.
Uses
Normally used in the solution-annealed or precipitation-hardened condition; stabilise/age per the grade (e.g., 650–800 °C ageing). Avoid long exposure in the sigma/475 °C embrittlement ranges.
Heat Treatment
Maintain the recommended heat-treatment envelope; prolonged time in embrittlement ranges reduces ductility. Use descaling/protective atmosphere to limit scaling.
