V-36

Superalloy

SAE J467b special-purpose alloys: a 1956 listing of proprietary/registered nickel-, cobalt- and iron-base alloys for high-temperature and special service. Many are cobalt/nickel-base superalloys; per-grade chemistry for the proprietary M-/N-/G-/V- designations is limited in the open literature. V-36 is a proprietary special-purpose alloy in the SAE J467b listing; detailed per-grade data is limited.

Mechanical Properties

Special-purpose alloy; tensile and service properties grade/heat-treatment dependent (typically high-temperature or special electrical/corrosion service)

Chinese Standard

SAE J467b-1956

Applications

Gas turbines, jet engines, heat-resisting and special-service components

Available Forms

Bar, wire, sheet, strip, forgings, castings

Uses

Special-purpose high-temperature, electrical or corrosion-resistant components

Heat Treatment

Solution treat + age (precipitation hardening) for superalloys; anneal for the softer grades
